Genetic Technologies Limited (GTL) is a 100% family owned & managed agribusiness which represents Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc. (DuPont Pioneer) and Aber in New Zealand. We grow, distribute and sell maize and grass seed nationally and around the world. We also offer a comprehensive range of microbial inoculants, Lucerne and forage sorghum. Our products are all tested and catered to the various growing conditions we have present across New Zealand. Accompanying our excellent product line is our outstanding hands-on specialised sales approach to ensure our customers are successful.

Currently we are looking for a PR & Communications Specialist with excellent writing abilities to come and join our team. This is a newly defined role that would be a great next step for someone with a few years' experience in the copy writing and public relations space. This role will require you to get involved and research our products, meet with our customers and witness first hand why our products are the best!

The role in a (brief) nutshell:

You will be:

  • Researching, writing and driving the publication of stories for national, regional and local agricultural press.
  • Producing technical copy, customer product testimonial's and product brochures that help us sell our products to the market.
  • Liaising with our Sales Team, working with their customers and featuring their stories across various channels.
  • Constructing technical articles for publication in our merchant and contractor partner publications,.In collaboration with some our best and brightest
  • Attending, covering and publishing our speakers at National and Regional conferences.

What we are after:

This is a specialist position which requires:

  • A person with a minimum of three years' experience in the workforce and a proven ability to write to high standard.
  • An understanding and affinity with the agricultural sector. This is critical and as such an agricultural degree would be advantageous.
  • You need to be passionate about writing and have the ability to effectively convey key messages and concepts to your readership.
  • Someone who is confident and able to network with excellent organisational and time management skills.
